Meet the Veterans

A number of Normandy Veterans and widows of veterans will be in our exhibition 1914: When the World Changed Forever to talk to visitors about the experience of being part of the Normandy Invasion at the end of the Second World War.

Our guests will be with us 10am to 4pm and visitors are welcome to drop in at any time.

Join one of our costumed guides on our famous Victorian street Kirkgate every day at 11.45am and 3.00pm for a free 15 minute informal talk.

Each talk is different but will provide an introduction to Kirkgate, the history of York Castle Museum, and the objects on display, as well as the people who lived and worked in York during the Victorian period of 1870-1901.

Please note that talks are subject to the availability of our guides.
