‘70 Objeks & Tings’ An Exhibition Celebrating 75 Years of Caribbean Culture
New for summer 2024, discover York Castle Museum’s new exhibition ‘Objeks and Tings’, curated by Museumand, the National Caribbean Heritage Museum.
Hear the stories of the Windrush Generation and celebrate the amazing contributions they have made, and continue to make, to life in Britain and across the UK.
The exhibition shares the precious stories of 184 Caribbean elders through 70 everyday objects and experiences, familiar to both Caribbean and British life. Alongside the thought-provoking display, hear new stories that have been collected by Museumand, which reflect people’s everyday experience of being Caribbean in York, and the wider UK.
