Gather round as local storyteller tells tales of ghosts and ghouls, all in the Castle Museum Cells. Learn about the history of the cell and the people who were once held there, while also getting into the spooky spirit of the holiday. For those thrill-seeking adults, enter York Castle Museum’s prison if you dare, for an afterhours spooktacular tour on All Hallows Eve. Visitors can step back in time with the York Castle Prison Gaoler after the lights go out for a Haunted Halloween Tour. The Gaoler will tell the story of the dark side of the prison’s history along with tales of the paranormal experienced by staff in recent years. Pre-booking essential.
